John “Jay” Rogers is President, CEO and Co-Founder of Local Motors, a next-generation U.S.-based car company that is changing the way cars are designed, built and owned. In fact, Local Motors created and drove the world’s first 3D-printed car. The Local Motors Strati 3D car was printed in just 44 hours and debuted last month at the 2014 International Manufacturing Technology Show in Chicago.
Founded just five years ago, Local Motors is already home to more than 60,000 car design concepts, 25,000 community members, more than 40 full time employees, one production vehicle, the Rally Fighter, and one prototype vehicle – the XC2v – co-created for the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA).
Rogers recently relocated to Knoxville, Tennessee.
